A Legacy in Ruin

-Lyrics-

Pt I - Shadow

I can no longer see my face amongst the shadows

Nor can I hear the voices of the elders call

I cannot see the open fields before my eyes

Nor can I find the swords my fathers left behind

I can no longer hold the shields of war

Nor can I dwell among the graves of those who came before

I can no longer hear the whispering of the wind

Among the trees for they are dead

I can no longer walk the paths of times long gone

Nor can I gaze upon the ancient hills and sacred stones

I can no longer reach the hallowed halls of gold

Nor can I hear the tales of heroes brave and kings so wise

I can no longer feel the rain from skies above

Nor embrace the chill of winter’s breeze

Nor the warmth of the summer sun

For they have gone…

All that stands before me is a land decayed

All that stands before me is a people betrayed

All that stands before me is a sea of despair

All that stands before me is a legacy in ruin

Pt. II - Storm

As though in a dream, he stumbles in the darkness

Lost amongst the ruins of old

Suddenly, he casts his eyes above

As thunder and lightning crack the sky

A shining sword of steel, glows bright in the dark

A sure sign from the Gods

Upon its blade, the mark of his kin

Etched in runes, their names still clear

And now, within this raging storm, comes a moment of quiet

As he hears the words of his forebears echo…

“Take this sword, my son, for it bears the names for your fathers,

Go forth and reclaim your long, forgotten legacy

For ours is eternal…”

Pt. III - Glory

From the Land of Shadow I arose

Where fell beasts of darkness dwell

There, in those bitter wastes, my doom was forged

By the Eternal Fires of Fate

By thunder and lightning I was awoken

And a storm raged deep inside

As the Kings of Old called out to me

Go forth and follow the signs

(And now) I raise my sword to the sky as I

Forge ahead through pathways unknown

Commanding the powers within its blade

Shining bright and true

My doom, made beneath the stars

I welcome as I ride towards lands afar

Glory awaits me ahead!

A noble heart unscathed

For years, alone, I wandered

Far in the North through Twilight Realms

In solitude - steadfast and bold

A Champion shall be made

The fire burns on ever brighter

For I bear the names of my fathers

Their legacy I carry, their names I hold true

Hearken to their call

A legacy in ruin, lost and forgotten

Buried by time, obscured by the ages

Its secrets are mine!

Its secrets are mine!

Revealed to me now, out from the dark

Wisdom and glory, honour and might

A legacy restored!

A legacy restored!

And as the Kings of Old

They sung to him songs of legends

Of glory, honour and might

From high above in their halls

Of how the Undying shall greet him

Upon their thrones of gold

When he arrives victorious

With sword in hand so mighty

And from the sky their voices

Broke through into the darkness

Relighting the ageless fire

That burns within his heart

For years, alone, he wandered

Through Twilight Realms to bring forth

A New Dawn out of Shadow

And awaken forgotten glory

And now the Kings of Old

Greet him upon his (own) throne

For his legacy

Is now renewed!
